lyrics

Broken and tattered, this world is undone
The clouds seem content to keep blocking the sun
Long in our graves have we slept with our fear
That the Savior foretold will forget to appear

But hearken to me, for I've rumors to tell
Of what shepherds have seen, and what wise-men do sell
That David's own city has found in its breath
A promise made mortal to free us from death

Forgo all pretension
No trump shall resound
Wrath meets circumvention
No guilt can be found

Whoa oh oh oh ooooh
There aren't enough angels to sing of the love of our
Lo o o o ord
Immanuel's come filled with blood for the sum of our pain

Why does the Lamb to His funeral run?
How does the seed flower when it's still the sun?
But short of this babe, we've no cure for our sin,
So kings kiss the ground where the ending begins

Forgo all pretension
No trump shall resound
Wrath meets circumvention
No guilt can be found

So we'll rejoice
Since the sound of His cry has the demons all cowering
So bittersweet
Is this child in the hay, does He know that He'll pay what we owe?

Whoa oh oh oh ooooh
There aren't enough angels to sing of the love of our
Lo o o o o ord
Immanuel's come filled with blood for the worst of us
Whoa oh oh oh ooooh
There aren't enough angels to sing of the love of our
Lo o o o o ord
Immanuel's come filled with blood for the sum of our pain

I've been looking forward to recording this Christmas single for almost two years now, and to see it realized blesses me greatly. I hope this tune brings you to a place of celebration and humility in the face of this great thing the Lord has done for us.

Massive thank you's to everyone that's come to Christmas shows, worn ugly sweaters, and supported this track from its inception.

Big thanks to Chris and Adam for jamming this song more times than they probably liked. And Nick is the man that made the song a reality, so thank you a million times for your studio know-how
